Blanket Louisville is a non-profit organization whose mission is to warm the hearts and bodies of Louisville’s homeless through the collection and distribution of new and gently used blankets.
At the start of its 20th year, Blanket Louisville has collected and distributed over 140,000 new and gently used blankets to homeless shelters and outreach organizations in Louisville and surrounding areas.

What started out as a family school project has turned into a growing grass roots charity. At the start of its 20th year, Blanket Louisville has collected over 140,000+ new and gently used blankets, which have been donated to various homeless shelters and outreach centers in Louisville and surrounding areas.

desperate need of blankets every night.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Our primary collection efforts start in mid-October and continue through the end of March. Volunteer opportunities include organizing and coordinating a collection effort in schools, churches, organizations, neighborhoods, and workplaces. For information on how you can help, contact us!
DONATIONS
We prefer donations of new or lightly used blankets and/or sleeping bags (no tents or clothing, please). However, all donations will be gratefully accepted. Please write out all checks to “Blanket Louisville.” All online and cash donations will go towards the purchase of blankets and/or operation costs. For more information, see our contact page.
What We Do
Kathy and Steve Fehder started Blanket Louisville to teach their children the importance of helping those in need and giving to the community. They enlisted the help of local schools, churches, organizations, family, and friends and started collection drives. The result has been an outpouring of generosity on the part of all those involved and increasing numbers of blankets collected each year, providing assistance to those who need warmth the most.
"They have helped us greatly over the years and we are fortunate to have their help. We use the blankets for our shelter and good Samaritan patrols that go into the camps and work with those living on the street."

We have been blessed to have received hundreds of blankets from Blanket USA. The blankets have kept countless homeless warm during the cold winter months. No telling how many lives they have saved.
